History

The story begins in the suburbs of Paris, when the boy Jean Paul Gaultier was playing dress up, do the hair and make up his pet bear. Later, when he was 18 years old, he decided to create and send his designs to all the important stylists of the time, and it was then that he received a contact from Maison Pierre Cardin where he got his first job. Later in 1974 he started running the French designer's shop in Manila, Philippines, where he even designed for the country's first lady and wife of the dictator Ferdinand Marcus, Imelda. And finally, in 1977, he opened his own Maison.
