History
|
The story begins in the 1950s with Jacques Courtin, a French medical student who specialized in physiotherapy, developed a new massage technique that improved blood circulation and the lymphatic drainage system. As their work progressed, patients reported improvements in medical conditions but also in the appearance of their skin. Then, in 1954, the Clarins Institute was created, with the objective of offering advanced and personalized skin treatments to women. As the oils and creams were successful among customers, who even asked to take them home, he decided to sell the products at the institute from 1966 onwards. In 1968, the brand began to be sold in selected perfumeries but quickly reached department stores . It is currently one of the world leaders in cosmetics and perfumes, being even the leading cosmetics brand in Europe. |
